This past weekend Mimi Santapa impressed people with her simple movements and what she calls "los secretos de mi papa". (The secrets of my father) Mimi's father was a famous teacher and dancer of Tango in Buenos Aires in the 40s. She carries on his legacy in her teaching. Bay Area tangueros have found Mimi's style easy to understand, easy to learn, and easy to transfer to their own tango. All have agreed that in one short lesson, she has made not a small, but a major difference in their dance.
Mimi Santapa is one of Buenos Aires most beloved and respected teachers. Beyond her teaching group classes, Mimi has worked with most of the professional dancers in Buenos Aires and on many tango shows. This is Mimi's first time teaching in the United States. San Francisco is very lucky to have her. People have come from as far as Texas to participate in her workshops. You don't want to miss Mimi while she is here.
