World-Renown Argentinean Tango Artists Return to Seattle Stage
Seattle, WA January 28, 2004 - On February 18-19, internationally
renowned stars of Tango stage and screen bring a new dance extravaganza to
Seattle at the Broadway Performing Arts Hall, the first major professional
Tango dance show to grace a Seattle stage in over five years.
The show is the creation of Patricio Touceda and Eva Luricio from Buenos
Aires, two of Tangos brightest stars of the new era. They will be joined on
stage by, among others, Jorge Torres and Mariella Frangelico, stars of the
Tony-nominated Broadway smash hit Forever Tango. The show features live music
by Bertram Levy's TangoHeart, a traditional Tango sextet, joined by Hector del
Curto, an internationally acclaimed bandoneon artist from the Forever Tango
orchestra.

The show, aptly named TangoRetro, pays homage to the golden age of Tango
in the 1930s and 40s in Argentina, and to the artists who created the powerful,
sensual world of Tango music and dance. "TangoRetro was created to give the
best artists of the modern Tango generation an opportunity to show audiences
the passion and glamour of a distant era," says Touceda. "Staying true to the
roots of Tango while incorporating the best of what today's young artists have
brought to the dance was our goal."
Patricio and Eva, who currently reside in Seattle, WA, are well known for
their scintillating dinner shows at the Buenos Aires Grill in Seattle. Since
coming to U.S. in 2002, they have starred in Michelle Badion's "Tango Cabaret"
in Seattle, "Swango" at the Helen Hayes theatre company in New York, and Romulo
Larrea's "Tangos for the Milonga" at Meanny Hall in Seattle. They have also
performed throughout Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, Germany, and Japan in
such critically acclaimed shows as "SeƱor Tango," "Tango Mio," "Forever Tango,"
"Tanguera," and "Malambo," and contributed to such films as "Evita," "The Tango
Lesson," and Carlos Suara's "Tango."
Tickets are available from the Buenos Aires Grill at 2nd & Virginia in
downtown Seattle, and through TicketWindowOnline.com. General admission tickets
are $25. Show times are 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18 and Thursday,
February 19. For further information, contact Patricio Touceda at (206) 351
0531.
