Deb and I are very excited once again to sponsor our mentor and dear friend
LUCIANA VALLE of Buenos Aires in her annual Spring Tango Workshop series in
Colorado! Since 1998, Luciana (a.k.a. "Hurricane Lucy") has been an
inspiration to Colorado dancers with her superb tango teaching skills, and
her rich background in tango traditions old and new. Her boundless energy
and enthusiasm for teaching tango and her penetrating intelligence in
analyzing and synthesizing the dance make her classes exciting and
invaluable. Followers appreciate Luciana's fully feminine radiant expression
and deep technical understanding of their role in the dance, while leaders
benefit enormously from accepting Luciana's challenge to master the "tango
matrix" through her example and understanding of the leader's role. Her
extensive experience and precocious skill in the milongas of Buenos Aires
evolved into a prestigious invitation to join the pioneering "Tango
Investigation" group of Gustavo Naveira and Fabian Salas (from the movie
"The Tango Lesson"). As a result, she was able to master the leader's role
with these originators of the 'Nuevo Tango" tradition. She has intensively
studied follower's technique for years as one of the early students of the
acclaimed Graciela Gonzales, one of the first Argentine masters to organize
technique classes specifically for followers. As a performer, she has
partnered with Omar Vega, Puppi Castello, Damian Esell, Gabriel Guerberoff,
and most recently Alex Krebs. She was a key staff member of Daniel Trenner's
Bridge to the Tango tours, and "co-starred" with Daniel for years in the
Tango/Salsa tours to Havana, Cuba. Her many devoted fans in Argentina and
the USA treasure her keen insight into their "tango problems" in private
lessons as well as group classes. Her mastery of tango is encyclopedic, her
energy is warm and infectious, her teaching is priceless - don't miss her!
