Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of Tango,

I am very pleased to present to you the schedule for an incredible event that we are going to have on March 26-28, 2004. The legendary Pablo Pugliese will be teaching and performing in Denver with his new dance partner Ms. Shiwa Noh. This will be the first time in seven years that we will see Pablo perform in Colorado!

Below, please find all the details of this event, including the fabulous milonga at the Mercury Cafe on Friday, March 26th, 2004 that will feature Argentine Tango Orchestra Extasis and the Tango Show with Pablo Pugliese and Shiwa Noh.

The registration materials will be available starting tomorrow at the Tango Colorado practica at the Denver Turnverein, at the Mercury cafe on Fridays and at our classes on Friday and Sunday evenings.

Private Lessons: On Monday and Tuesday, March 29 & 30, 2004, Pablo will be available for private lessons. Ms. Noh will be available for private lessons in Gyrotonic Expansion body work for tango. Please call Nina at 720/434-4342 for more information.
Registration: Early Bird: $98 for all six classes!  deadline is 3/29.
The regular registration deadline is Tuesday, March 16, 2004. After this date, the drop in rate will apply without any discount. To ensure proper gender balance for the classes, they are open on drop-in basis only to persons who either arrive with a partner or are able and willing to dance both the lead and the follow parts .

Cost: The intermediate 1.5 hour classes are $20 per class and the Int/Advanced & Advanced are $25. The entire series of five classes is $110 if registered before March 16th, 2004. After that, the drop-in rate for the Intermediate level classes will be $25 and $30 for the Int/Adv level classes. To ensure proper gender balance in each class, they are open on drop-in basis only to persons who either arrive with a partner or are able and willing to dance both the lead and the follow parts. There is a 15% discount offered to students, professional dancers, dance teachers (including AT) and dancers with more than 65 years of experience at life.

Pablo Pugliese

Pablo Pugliese of Buenos Aires, Argentina, began dancing tango at the early age of nine years old. He is a son of legendary Esther and Mingo Pugliese, the master teachers who had trained most of the new generation of professional tango dancers.

A remarkable dancer, Pablo won first price at the Torneos Juveniles Bonaerences in 1994, a prestigious dance tournament in Argentina. Since1996, he has been touring the USA and Europe and has performed and taught numerous times in Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, as well as most major cities in the United States.

His performance credits include Compania Tango Express (San Martin theatre, Buenos Aires, Argentina), International Dance Festival of Rio de Janeiro (Brasil), Encuentro de los Grandes (Madrid, Spain), Mid-Summer Night Swing Festival at Lincoln Center (New York, USA) Gala de Tangos y La Consagracion (Teresa Carrenio Theatre, Caracas, Venezuela).

Mr. Pugliese is a versatile dancer, trained in modern dance and ballet. He was a full scholarship student during his three-year training at The Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York, as well as full scholarship recipient for two consecutive years at the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.

Pablo has been part of the staff of Argentine tango teachers at Dance Manhattan Studio in New York for the last five years.

With this enormous expertise, Pablo brings his authentic search for the new interpretation of the dance, his passionate artistic expression and the boundless energy of his youth.

Shiwa Noh
Born in South Korea, Ms. Noh began dancing at the age of five, studying traditional Korean Dance. Later, she began to study ballet, modern, and jazz and she has graduated from University of California, Irvine, receiving BFA in choreography. Ms. Noh has worked with various modern choreographers such as Bella Lewitzky, Sean Greene, Donald McKayle among many others, and has been performing her own works in NYC. She has been teaching Gyrotonic Expansion System for dancers for the last 6 years.

Most recently, Ms. Noh has embraced Argentine Tango as her own medium of expression. She participated as a guest artist at Boston's 2003 First Night and worked with several tango shows with choreographer Hector Zaraspe. Ms. Noh has also performed with Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, at the Hollywood Bowl with LA Philharmonic Orchestra and with the Romulo Larrea Tango Ensemble at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
