Rosa Collantes is an outstanding teacher, dancer, and performer of tango and salsa in NYC. She is the partner of Angel Garcia. Rosa came with Angel to San Francisco several times. She captured the heart and feet of many of us. She is very ill and does not have health insurance. She has no way to support herself now that she is ill.
A group of us in the Bay Area want to help Rosa out. We are holding a benefit milonga at Studio Gracia, Thursday March 25 from 9:30 pm until 1:00 AM. The cover is only $10. We kept it low hoping that lots of you will come to support this event. The only expense we have is the reduced rent of Studio Gracia. All proceeds will go to Rosa. We would like to raise $1000.00. Lydia Henson of Tango Fantasy has donated a $650 registration package to be raffled off. The tickets will be $1 each or 6 for $5. Stella and Paulo have also donated two entrances to their milonga. The DJ will be Paulo Araujo. Pampa and Valeria Cortes are going to perform. We are asking that you bring drinks or munchies. We do not want to spend $$ on food as we want all the profits to go to Rosa. If you have any questions please contact me.
