Tangueros & Tangueras, Arthur Newman and I (Clay Nelson) would like to announce the creation and start of a new Seattle milonga to be held the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, beginning Monday, May 3rd. Our intent is to offer a dance with great tango music, the best local DJs (and hopefully some out of town DJs), plenty of space for dancing, and a comfortable atmosphere for socializing. Here are the specifics:
LOCATION: China Harbor Restaurant (large dance floor to the right as you come in) 2040 Westlake Ave N Seattle, WA TIME: 9:30 PM - 1:00 AM FOOD and DRINK The bar will be open during the dance and the restaurant will serve food until 10 PM AGE REQUIREMENT Must be 21 or older. ID required. PRICE: To get the dance going, everyone has volunteered their time and there will be no cover fee. If it proves to be a success, there will probably have to be a small entrance fee to cover expenses etc. DJ's May 3--Andrew Brown May 17--Las Tres Mujeres (Jeannie Castle, Anna Waisman, & Hyla Dickinson) June 7--Bill Peterson June 21--Las Tres Mujeres SMOKING: No Smoking (an enforced voluntary rule!) PARKING: Plenty of parking in lot adjacent to building. THE FUTURE: This will depend on your participation--both in terms of attending AND providing us with your input.
