Maria Cieri is at the Tangueria in Montreal, Canada, until the end of June. Maria and her late husband, the celebrated Rodolfo Cieri, were regular guest teachers at many of the most prestigious international tango festivals. A superb dancer in tango and milonga, she's also a specialist of canyengue and vals. As a teacher, she's clear, energetic and inspiring.
She is available for private lessons at very reasonable rates. She also teaches a drop-in class (all levels) on Friday nights, 9 PM. Class + milonga immediately following is Cdn.$15 (about US$11). Also, check out her women's technique class on Wednesday nights for invaluable tips on how to build balance, confidence, musicality, and for the secrets of adorning beautifully. She is also a professional tango singer and is available for concerts and recitals. She sings tango as beautifully as she dances it. Maria started going to the milongas as a kid and danced to all the great bands of the Golden Age. Her depth of knowledge is rare and irreplaceable, so don't miss this unique opportunity: come and benefit from her experience of many decades as a social dancer, performer, and teacher of tango. For more information, contact Paul Montpetit at (514) 495-8645 or visit http://www.tangueria.org/ (Web site in French only at this time, unfortunately). I am posting this to help Maria, and have no commercial interest in her visit nor with the Tangueria. L. Des Marais Montreal
