Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation An innovative yet natural way of meditating while dancing Tango This Workshop introduces Tango Zen, an innovative yet natural idea of meditating while dancing Tango. Using the striking similarities between the two, this work will introduce methods through which both tango dancers and non-dancers can practice Tango Zen to experience and enjoy the wonderful benefits, which both Tango and Zen have to offer. Besides two Tango Zen classes, two classes will be devoted to tango (mainly close embrace). ----------------Class Schedule------------------- Saturday, May 29 3:00-4:15 Tango Zen I: "Body moves, mind flows." Introducing basic concept of Zen meditation, breathing and posture, warming up for exercises, being mindful of oneself, and connecting with one's partner and music. 4:30-5:45 Tango Fundamental I: Focus on centering, weight-shifting, and walking in close embrace. SPECIAL MILONGA TIME AND LOCATION TBA Sunday, May 30. 1:00-2:15 Tango Zen II: "Tango Zen mind, beginner's mind" Focus on refining movements by revisiting well known tango steps and mindfulness, which was established in Tango Zen I. 2:30-3:45 Tango Fundamental II: Adding complexity to your tango by practicing simple movements.
