Dear Tango List:
Registration for the San Miguel de Allende TOPAZ TANGO event from July 2-7
needs to be completed by MAY 17!
Please do not miss the opportunity to dance and learn from EDUARDO SAUCEDO,
a magnificent teacher and choreographer, and a wonderful friend to many of
us in Mexico. We always have a fabulous time on these trips in Mexico, and
this one will include a Mexican cooking class and tequila tasting.
San Miguel offers wonderful shopping for arts, crafts, jewelry, shoes, home
decorations; just about anything you can imagine desiring from the best of
Mexico! Romantic restaurants with great food are everywhere, and you can
never get enough of the detailed colonial architecture and palette of colors
that are on every cobblestoned street.
Un abrazo,
Christina
MEXICO
TOPAZ TANGO
July 2 thru July 7, 2004.
Dance, party, play, and shop in SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, one of Mexico¹s most
beautiful colonial towns. From the legendary wedding cake cathedral in the
main square, to the verdant warmth of the hot springs ten minutes from town,
San Miguel is packed with beauty, charm, and history. We¹ll have milongas in
beautiful restaurants, dating back a couple of centuries.
Included in the price for the week are one traditional Mexican
cooking class, a tequila tasting chosen from the many excellent Mexican
varieties, a ceremony at the botanical cactus garden, and an elegant lunch
at a hacienda in the countryside near San Miguel. Of course, 18 hours of
tango classes, 3 practicas, and 3 milongas are included as well.
Classes will be intermediate and advanced levels only.
The principal teacher is Eduardo Saucedo, and there may be one other teacher
as well. From Buenos Aires, Eduardo is a radiantly enthusiastic maestro,
flawless in the teachings of close embrace tango, and also an extraordinary
talent with choreography. His classes are high energy, fun, and include very
detailed instruction. He has become quickly loved as a teacher and
performer, and taught at CITA again this year For more on Eduardo, see
www.beyondtango.com.
Stay at the package price at the Rancho Hotel Atascadero (where classes
will be held) or arrange separate accommodation. The Atascadero is a lovely,
original Mexican Hacienda, with a swimming pool. It is a 20-minute walk to
downtown, and there will be Hotel transportation available.
