Tango By The River in historic Old Sacramento, CA, Northern California's premier center for Argentine Tango, is proud to announce a 10-hour, Silver-level Argentine Tango Teacher Training-Instructor Development Course on November 13-14, 2004. This fabulous program will be taught by San Francisco's Christy Cote, Director of the Metronome Ballroom's Academia de Tango Argentino program. Pre-requisite: completion of the Bronze-level training program, or permission of the instructor.
This weekend course will cover the lead and follower's technique for 23 intermediate figures (Silver level) as outlined in the DVIDA Manual (MAT13), authored by Christy Cote. Maximum students: 16. Cost: $199.00, which includes the instructional video for the Silver level program. Pre-paid participants are strongly encrouaged to preview and study the manual and video prior to that weekend's intensive to optimize instructional time. Silver level participants will have already obtained the manual in the course of their Bronze-level training. Payment can be made by personal check, Mastercard/VISA/Amex to Tango By The River by October 1, 2004. BRONZE-LEVEL TESTING AND CERTIFICATION For those who have already completed the Bronze-level program, Christy will offer testing at Tango By The River on Monday Nov 15th, 2004, by appointment, in 1.5 hour time slots. Two candidates can share the same appointment and split the instructor and studio fee ($90). DVIDA 1-yr. membership, certification, and professional listing fees ($70) are the responsibility of each individual candidate. The appointment schedule is as follows: 9am-10:30am 10:30am-12noon 12noon-1:30pm 1:30pm-3pm Individual testing fee: $160, which includes testing and personal individualized instruction by Christy (1.5 hrs total time), studio fee ($10.00), DVIDA membership (1 yr.) and certification ($70), as well as listing on DVIDA's website as a certified instructor. Two candidates sharing an appointment would pay $115 pp. Reservations will be confirmed upon payment in full. 8 slots open. *** To facilitate preparation for Bronze-level certification, Tango By The River will be hosting a Professional's Practica from 11am to 3pm on the following dates: Sunday, September 26, 2004--Bronze level review & Silver level prep; Sunday, October 24, 2004--Bronze level review & Silver level prep. These workshops are scheduled for the day after our regularly scheduled milongas to facilitate participation at these review sessions. Cost: $10. Refreshments and light snacks provided.
