Tango By The River, Northern California's premier center for authentic Argentine tango is proud to host bandoneon maestro Bocha Lopez and guitarist/vocalist Marcelo Puig at this Satuday night's milonga. Cost: $15, includes Intro To Tango lesson 7:45-8:45pm, milonga from 9pm-midnight and all refreshments.
If you haven't been 'feeling the music', then this is the night to attend. Marcelo's rendition of Pobre Flor will touch your tango soul, and the 'weeping' strains of Bocha's bandoneon will pull gently your heart strings. If that isn't enough to move you, our newly installed Peavey amp/mixer and speaker system will pound the music into your very bones! It is rumored that the local 'lowrider-boombox' community is intimidated by our sound system and would rather not have their ears bleed, but that is mere rumor. ;o) We hope you'll join us in celebrating the live music of Bocha Lopez and Marcelo Puig, and experiencing 'through your body' sound instead of just 'surround sound.' One of our students owns his own film and television production company and he'll be recording Saturday night's performance for Bocha and Marcelo, possibly including a video component.
