[SINGAPORE 23/Sept] -- Tango instructor and innovator Chan K Park will present a weekend workshop in Singapore on 23-24 october 2004 to introduce his "Zen" concepts of approaching dance from a meditative perspective.
------------------------------------------------------------ Chan, a Korea-born American with a Latin soul, is a man of many talent. He and his partner Eugenia teaches tango in the Maryland and Washington DC regions of the US. They are known for their authentic and elegant style of dancing in close embrace, known as "milonguero style", which has been danced in the crowded clubs of Buenos Aires for decades. As milonguero dancers they simply move together to the rhythm of tango, pausing only to convey their physical and emotional expressions. Their dance involves no choreography, but joy, movement, connection, and creativity. Chan is the author of the recently published book "Tango Zen" (www.tangozen.com). In it he fuses Zen meditation principles with tango movement to help develop one's inner awareness, so as to achieve the "moment of true self in tango".
