TANGO GRACIA (Nov. 21-28) in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico is still open for
registration. I encourage you to register by Oct. 1, and also to have your
airline reservations handled by the first week of October to get the best
fare. November is a gorgeous month in the high altitude climate of San
Miguel, but it is not as busy with tourists. You will still be able to book
a place to stay in November, although, at short notice, it might not be the
place of your first choice.
THERE IS A GREAT AIRFARE I FOUND TODAY FROM NEW YORK:
It is on Mexicana airlines, departing at 6:30PM on the 20th Nov., arriving
Mexico City at 10:30PM. There is a very nice hotel at the airport. You would
book your bus to San Miguel, and connecting van through Viajes San Miguel
(travel agency) in San Miguel de Allende. First class buses in Mexico are
extremely comfortable and safe.
You would return to Mexico City (same agency bussing you) at the end of your
stay, and fly out at 10:45AM to arrive JFK at 4:25 PM. The fare is $440, as
of today. Viajes San Miguel charges $50 per person one way Mexico City to
San Miguel. It would be only $24 if you speak Spanish, don¹t mind changing
buses by yourself, and taking a second class bus the last 50 minutes of the
journey.
TANGO BY THE SEA (Jan. 13-20 2005) near Puerto Vallarta at Costa Azul resort
is also still open for registration. The risk with late registration for
this event is that Costa Azul will have all their rooms booked. January and
February are the two most popular months in Mexico, and they will only hold
our rooms through October. So even though we may have space for you with the
tango classes, you might not have a place to stay. The closest ³other²
accommodation is in Sayulita, a beautiful village 5 miles away from Costa
Azul on a dirt road. They, also, will be booked early for those who want to
have the most comfortable weather all year at the beach; January and
February. The couples special rate EXPIRES on Oct. 2!
