The City of Sacramento Dept. of Parks & Recreation and the T Street Players presents a 1-act play starring Lois Kerr and Paul Hauck.
The Guys is based upon real events. Columbia University journalism professor Anne Nelson was asked to help a NYC fire captain write eulogies for many of his fallen men after 9/11. What developed was a connection to the firefighters and a profound appreciation of the ordinary heros around us. What began as a grim writing task for Anne Nelson resulted in a work that celebrates the importance of seemingly unremarkable people, the common threads that bind us, and the beginning of healing through a heartfelt bond. I was honored to choreograph the brief, but central fantasy tango scene in The Guys, and the selection of music was key to completing the metaphor for the connection which develops between a seasoned journalist and The Guys. Here is the schedule for the remaining performances: Saturday, September 25: 2PM, 8PM Friday, October 1: 8PM Saturday, October 2: 8PM The Coloma Community Center T Street Theatre 4623 T Street Sacramento, CA 95819 As Lois Kerr kindly wrote: "You are such a lovely person and a VERY GIFTED TEACHER. That you could get us to be able to do anything in the time you had and with our non-existent abilities was amazing. We so enjoyed working with you..." Please support the arts in Sacramento, but especially those who honor this beautiful dance we all share, el tango! This was my first experience with choreography and I'm extremely proud of the results, but especially of Lois and Paul's performances. Go enjoy! Tango By The River is duly credited, too. Besos a todos, Andy Carrillo __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Mail - Send 10MB messages! http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail
