Orlando Paiva, Jr. and Mariana Melling are inheritors of the style developed by the legendary Orlando Paiva, Sr. In the words of his father, Orlando Jr. and Mariana have not only maintained the basis of my style, they have perfected it. They have such elegance and romanticism, you must see them! Orlando & Mariana are among the most unique and elegant salon Tango dancers to come from Argentina today. Their workshops have been incredibly received in festivals across continents from the World Tango Festival in Argentina (where they appeared with the Band, Color Tango) to Las Vegas, Portland and Miami. Their dance is characterized by fluidity, precision and esthetic movements. They make of the Tango a three-minute romance. The hallmark of the Paiva style is a figure known as the bridge. Orlando & Mariana have taught this style and its figures to dancers in Germany and Spain as well as Vancouver and Dallas. And now, for the first time, they will bring this uniquely elegant style to Bostonians and New Englanders.
