Karina Romero was born in Cordoba Argentina, where she started her artistic
career at six years of age taking ballet class, jazz and modern dance. She
entered the modern dance company (teatro gral San Martin) and became a member
of the contemporary company "ballet movimiento"(dancing soloist), performance
modern tango "Piazolla". In 1995, she moved to Buenos Aires, where she
studied tango, with masters like, Mingo Pugliese, Mariela Franganillo, Pablo
Veron, Graciela Gonzalez and J.C.Copes. In 1999 she started touring and
teaching tango in Argentina. In 2001 in New York she performed at Camy Hall,
La Guardia, University Princeton, Dance Space, Argentina Embassy, Never Ending
Tango, Moving Forward, Tango Mundo, 3 season in Thalia Spanish Theatre
(2001-2002-2003 , A wards 2002 "Ace Hispanic Award for Best Latin Musical)
and recently participated in the show Modern Tango in Paris and many Tango
show in Manhattan. She appeared in the film "A Night in New York" (dancer)
and the commercials "La Viruta Tango". She worked in TV, channel 4 ABC
(tango–modern dancer). She is currently a member of Connections Dance Theatre
and Balance Dance Company and teaches at Sandra Cameron Dance Center.
Jak Karako, born in Istanbul, Turkey Jak's passion for dance started at age of
eleven with international folk dancing. After teaching ballroom for four years
Jak focused on Argentine Tango after meeting his current mentor, coach and
business partner Metin Yazir and opened the New York branch of "Baila Tango"
at Carnegie Hall. He also studied with Gustavo Naviera & Guiselle Anne,
Guillermina Quiroga. Jak also performed in various venues, most notably with
Tango Fusion, an off-Broadway show as a choreographer and a dancer, which got
rave reviews from the New York Times. Jak just finished his show as a
director "Tango Mango". In addition to his regular classes in New York, Jak
teaches at: Baltimore, Durham, Charlotte, Asheville, San Francisco, Washington
DC, Syracuse, St Louis, Boston, Rome (Italy), VanCouver (Canada), Istanbul
(Turkey). Joining forces with eleven other "Baila Tango" dance schools all
over the world, Jak organizes a tango trip to Istanbul every year in August.

bringing their vast experiences and backgrounds into an exciting partnership.
They performed at Tango Mango, and at Spice to honor the bandoneon player Tito
Castro's 50th year as a musician.
