Hi, because the Marathon, this Sun. Nov. 7, goes right by our new milonga
venue, SESSION 73 on the upper east-side,
and it is 6-deep with people trying to get in that day and night, ---just
this week we skip "ESMERALDA'S TANGO AND TAPAS MILONGA"---

So please support the benefit CECILIA and BATT are organizing ( see below)*

The opening night of ESMERALDA'S (the Halloween party) was a fantastical
real party- party if I must say so myself!!! Prizes will be given
retroactively (hmmm????) because of so much incessant dancing, laughing and
cake-eating we plumb (plum?) forgot to do this part. Also there is a winner
for my cascading gold mylar outfit worn at Carlos' so that will be announced
Nov.14th at the next ESMERALDA'S.

The amazing costume among amazing costumes had to be Gayatri's outrageous
number designed around the mistaken idea that I had announced a" topless"
rather than a "tapas"bar--an amazing top and same kind of bottom, plus a
little apron (she served disgusting fake pizza and eyeballs--hold the
pepperoni!) embroidered with "ESMERALDA'S TANGO AND TOPLESS" made up her
show-stopper.

Now either a tie or a close second was the statuesque 6' 3' gorgeous blonde
nursie with the gorgeous legs who turned out to be........a favorite teacher
in our town. ....
Questions:
Who????
and
Do blondes have more fun?
See bottom of e-mail for correct answers.

A particular favorite idea among all kinds of favorites was Stasia's (see
her regularly at the desk at Danel and Maria's) get-up. She came as a lamp,
for goddess' sake. And on and on.....

On a hopeful note: Tango dancers always need to find venues that do not
throw them out shortly after arriving since bars like folks who drink
themselves under the table, eliminating us. So positive signs are the
following----

a. One of the young owners seeing us for the first time, called to tell his
mom as she adores tango (not ours, but she will come to learn ours),

b. Guy (our fab D.J.) told me that the owner also told his dad.

c. The jazz guitarist who was to play after we stopped at 10:30, loved the
music and dancing so much that he adamantly refused to interrupt the mood.
He plans to bring his wife to the class and wants to come every week for the
tango.

So this is a propitious beginning and with your support we will stay!!! The
food is truly wonderful and reasonable so if people eat and drink a bit of
the wonderful food and drinks (reasonable too),we should be well-appreciated
all around.

So remember Sunday evening, Nov. 14, and come to SESSION 73, 5:30 to 10:30
at 1st Ave and 73rd St, S.W. corner.

A perfect, relaxing place to dance continuously.
$10 --This includes the class for beginners.

he proved that blondes have more fun.

I look forward to seeing you next week!
Lucille (a.k.a. Esmeralda)
