Two Fabulous Weeks in Buenos Aires: One Week with Oscar Mandagaran former star
of "Forever Tango" Plus "CITA 2005," the World's Biggest Tango Festival
March 6-20, 2005
What your trip to Buenos Aires will include:
*A chance to experience authentic Buenos Aires milongas, dance with local
milongueros and get your handmade tango shoes made before the CITA deluge
begins on March 12th.
*Excellent accommodations at a modern first class hotel in the heart of the
city, with A/C, internet access, safety box, near metro and CITA activities,
and daily buffet breakfast for 14 nights.
*Transportation from airport to hotel and back
* City tour including Porto Madero, Caminito and La Boca, Recoleta cemetery
where Gardel and Evita Peron are buried, Congreso, the Casa Rosada, and much

***TOUR HIGHLIGHT: Three tango classes with the much sought after, legendary
Oscar Mandagaran, just for our group
* Shopping and lunch tour with Stella on famous pedestrian shopping streets
Florida and Lavalle, with stops at tango music stores, chocolaterias,
heladerias, and pizzerias (did you know BA has some of the best chocolate,
ice-cream and pizza in the world?), and group lunch at a "papa soufflé"
restaurant.
* Visit to famous "Café Tortoni" one of the oldest tango cafes in the world
* Visit to San Telmo flea market to see street dancing and browse for antiques
* An afternoon of museum hopping including the famous MALBA and Xul Sol museums.
* Visit by Leo to our hotel to have our handmade tango shoes ready before you
leave as well as visits to Comme Il Faut and other tango shoe stores
*Visit to "Caminito," the artists street in la Boca, where tango started, to
visit studios and have lunch
*Admission to a milonga or special activity daily (could be an afternoon or
evening milonga or a visit to Club del Vino or a tango show) until CITA starts
*A Spanish-speaking knowledgeable tanguera guide who has been to BA more than a
dozen times for tango and who has led trips now for more than 5 years.

*your trip will include registration for all classes, milongas and performances
at CITA 2005 March 12-20th. CITA is the biggest tango festival in the world
with more than 45 master instructors, and up to 30 hours of classes. This
year's instructors will include: Fabián Salas y Carolina del Rivero, Mariano
"Chicho" Frúmboli y Eugenia Parrilla, Osvaldo Zotto y Lorena Ermocida (to be
confirmed), Julio Balmaceda y Corina de la Rosa, Carlos Gavito y Maria

The total price for this trip including CITA will be $1750 (based on double
occupancy) if paid in full before Jan. 15th, 2004 and $1950 if paid after Jan.
15th. A non-refundable deposit of $550 is required prior to Jan 15th, with
the balance to be paid by February 15th, 2005. ***Please note that this
deposit will go towards your CITA registration, the sooner that you register
the better chance you have of getting into the classes that you want as these
fill up quickly and those who register first get priority in their classes.
Single occupancy please add $500. $100 discount for those who have previously
been on trips with Stella or for couples.
A portion of the funds for this trip will be donated to the charitable mission
that Oscar Mandagaran has established, Mission Guri, which works to bring food,
medicine and clothing to the needy children of his hometown Missiones,
Argentina.
This price does not include airfare, transportation within the city,
wine/liquor with meals, personal expenditures, private shopping. Inexpensive
airfares are available through Aerolineas Argentinas and through Varig.
Currently Varig is offering a RT airfare from SF-BA for $470. No visa or
special immunizations are required for your trip.
