presented by Elizabeth Sadowska and Rhythm & Motion Inc. We are pleased to announce that Ricardo Vidort from Buenos Aires will be teaching workshops at the festival. Ricardo is a life-long milonguero with 60 years of experience. He is one of the few remaining authentic milongueros who learned to dance as a child at family parties in the 1940s, the golden age of tango. As soon as he was in trousers, he says, he started going to the neighbourhood milongas, held in social clubs in his barrio in Buenos Airies. Ricardo lived in New York for 5 years so he speaks fluent english. While in New York he taught classes and hosted a weekly milonga with Carlos Gavito. Ricardo has also taught in other U.S. cities, Canada and Europe. Ricardo loves to teach and his aim is to help each individual to develop their own feeling for the music and their own style rather than expecting students to just copy him.
