Various organizations have gotten together to change the name of the Malabia
station on the B Line subway in BsAs to Osvaldo Pugliese. Neighbors
consider him to be an icon. More than 1,500 signatures have been obtained
to support this project to honor one of the great Argentine pianists,
directors and composers. Julio Keselman, president of Centro Cultural
Osvaldo Pugliese, has the idea of making cultural activities in the station
on the life of Pugliese. This year will be ten years since his death and
100 since his birth.

However, Leticia Maronese, the secretary general of the Comision de Cultura
de la Legislatura portena, considers it will be very difficult to make the
change. Generally, the station name reflects the name of a street in the
neighborhood so people know where they are on the subway system. There are
other projects to rename subway stations, such as Pasteur for the Jewish
Association AMIA to honor the victims of 1994.

La Radio de la Ciudad (2x4 FM 92.7) is dedicating a section of its regular
programming this year to Osvaldo Pugliese. See how you can help the effort
