Here's 3 important updates for the Portland ValenTango (Feb 17-20, 2005):

1. The venue for the afternoon Alternative Milongas (Fri & Sat 2:00-5:00
PM) has been changed from PPAA to the new Paradise Ballroom, 826 SE Belmont.
(Belmont runs parallel to Burnside and is 9 blocks south.) There's plenty
of free on-street parking.

2. If you have pre-registered, you can pick up your registration packet
(name badge, ball tickets, etc) at either the Thursday Opening Milonga,
Lower Melody Ballroom, 615 SE Alder, or during the day Friday-Sunday (10:30
AM-4:00 PM) at the ValenTango Registration Headquarters, Norse Hall, 111, NE
11th Ave.

3. The Saturday Post-Grande All-Night Milonga will be held at Oaks Park
Pavilion from midnight-6:00 AM. This park is set back in the woods at the
east end of the Sellwood bridge. To find it, you either need to (a) follow
the signs starting at the NW corner of 6th and Tacoma (b) view Mark's map at
http://mabtango.home.comcast.net/pdxtangomap.pdf, (c) pick up one of our
maps at the ValenTango event, or (d) take our free shuttle van/bus that will
be running that evening.

Remember, this event is for both singles and couples and features 33
classes, 15 teachers, 7 DJs, 4 classic milongas, 2 all-night milongas, 2
supervised milongas, 2 alternative milongas, and a live orchestra. I
anticipate 300-400 tangueros will attend. For more details go to

Hope to see you there.clay
