El Dorrego in Palermo Hollywood will be a new venue for concerts, shows, classes, dances, tango products fair, radio studio, photography and filete exhibitions, and movie theater. Concerts include the next generation of musicians. Leonardo Marconi (son of Nestor) and his trio and Carla Pugliese (granddaughter of Osvaldo) and her quintet will be performing. There will be a grand practica on Saturday at El Dorrego to celebrate the 100th birthday of Carmencita Calderon and to warm-up with dozens of teachers for the Milonga at night with orchestras kicking off the Year of Osvaldo Pugliese. Old tango films from the 1930s and 40s are on the schedule including the premiere of new ones. Los guardianes de Angel (Adrian Lorenzo, Juan Pablo Martinez, Argentina 2005) premiere A film about Anibal Troilo's life through anecdotes, music, dance and interviews. Susana Tango Pial -- Carlos Pico, Sandro Nunziata (Argentina 2004) premiere Susana's milonga is in Flores where mainly elderly people dance. This documentary portrays feelings aroused in the milonga and encounters with some of the people. It's a full schedule and I don't know how I'll get to all the events I want to attend.
