The schedule is out for the ten-day festival.  There's something new every
year, and this year is no exception.  www.tangodata.com.ar  Printed copies
are available at the milonga and the Tangodata desk in Centro Cultural San
Martin at Sarmiento and Parana.

El Dorrego in Palermo Hollywood will be a new venue for concerts, shows,
classes, dances, tango products fair, radio studio, photography and filete
exhibitions, and movie theater.

Concerts include the next generation of musicians.  Leonardo Marconi (son of
Nestor) and his trio and Carla Pugliese (granddaughter of Osvaldo) and her
quintet will be performing.

There will be a grand practica on Saturday at El Dorrego to celebrate the
100th birthday of Carmencita Calderon and to warm-up with dozens of teachers
for the Milonga at night with orchestras kicking off the Year of Osvaldo
Pugliese.

Old tango films from the 1930s and 40s are on the schedule including the
premiere of new ones.

Blue Tango in Buenos Aires -- Alexandra Prusa of Switzerland (2004) premiere
Alexandra explores the city and its people, interviews with tango dancers.

Tango Salon Confiteria Ideal -- Jana Bokova (Argentina/Spain/England 2004)
How many times have we wanted to go to a milonga and we have not dared?
Tango mythology gets to the big screen.  A sensual and daring world is
opened for us like never before. The magic of a porteno night life heats up
the afternoons at Confiteria Ideal.

3 minutos - Eva Baratta (Argentina 2004)
3 minutos shows the fate of four women from BsAs who have very different
lives, but each of them reaches their limit and needs to escape to another
world, to wear dance shoes and to go to the milonga, to satisfy a wish, a
need for a the few minutes of a tango.

Los guardianes de Angel (Adrian Lorenzo, Juan Pablo Martinez, Argentina
2005) premiere
A film about Anibal Troilo's life through anecdotes, music, dance and
interviews.

Susana Tango Pial -- Carlos Pico, Sandro Nunziata (Argentina 2004) premiere
Susana's milonga is in Flores where mainly elderly people dance.  This
documentary portrays feelings aroused in the milonga and encounters with
some of the people.

It's a full schedule and I don't know how I'll get to all the events I want
to attend.
