Third Montreal International Tango Festival of 2005
The Montreal International Tango festival (MITF) will return in the summer
of 2005 for the third time. From July 9 to July 17 2005, Montreal will
become an important meeting place for tango lovers of all levels.
According to its program, 9 days of classes, of dancing evenings, of shows
and of open air activities will be offered to all participants.
The MITF 2005 will host some of the best known teachers of Argentinian
tango: AURORA AND JORGE, MARIANA AND EDUARDO, DANA AND PABLO, DANA FRIGOLI
AND PABLO VILLARRAZA, PABLO NIEVAS AND VALERIA ZUNINO from Buenos Aires as
well as AGATA JAKUBCZYK AND GERARDO SANCHEZ of Montreal. Our guest teachers
will give 90 classes for students of all levels, beginners and advanced
as well. The MITF will also host orchestras such as NARCO TANGO and COLOR
TANGO from Buenos Aires, the Montreal based SWEAT SHOP TANGO ENSEMBLE and
other local musicians.
The MITF is offering:
- nine milongas (dancing evenings) in enchanting sites to the music of local
and foreign orchestras
- three open air shows at the Old Port of Montreal, at the Municipal
Greenhouses of Verdun and at the Théâtre de Verdure of Montreal to the
music of Narco Tango;
- a grand show at the Théâtre Outremont involving Color Tango and a
performance by the teachers of the festival.
Several package deals concerning classes and milongas will be offered by
MITF.
