I arrived in BsAs six years ago as a vegetarian, but after living in a
country known for its beef, I gave in and converted.

Look for restaurants called TENEDOR LIBRE (translated - open fork) which
are buffet places run by Asians with lots of vegies that you can combine as
you wish for a fixed price of 5-7 pesos for lunch and 7-12 pesos for dinner
plus beverage and tip.  They are all over the city and make it easier for
tourists who don't speak the language to select according to their
preferences.
