Dear Tango Friends;

Five weeks until the start of the First Southern Tango
Social (Atlanta, April 8-10). We hope you are as
excited as we are.
Here are the last developments regarding teachers,
accommodations and extras.

- Brigitta Winkler will be back to Berlin after the
Festival. The Tango Social is one of the last chances
to take workshops with her in the US this spring.

- The free T-shirts are long gone. We will have them
available for sale on site for ONLY $15.

- Location: All the events (classes and milongas) of
the festival will take place at the Holiday Inn Select
in downtown Decatur, located 6 miles from downtown
Atlanta. It is a self-contained venue with a direct
subway connection to the Atlanta airport and
surrounded by local restaurants and shops. No rental
car or taxis are needed. Completely renovated in 2000,
the hotel offers a discount rate of $79 per night. The
hotel discount rate is valid until March 10th.
Probably we will be able to maintain this rate after
that date, but it will mostly depend on room
availability. Please mention "Atlanta Tango event"
when making your reservation by calling 404-371 0204.

- For those of you still trying to decide whether to
attend, Delta just released a new offer for flights
between Atlanta and most cities in the country for
this Spring. The offer is valid until March 10th, so
hurry up and book your flight.

- New addition to the program: Saturday afternoon,
Film Showing: Special Selections from Chasing the
Ghost Documentary. See what dancing looks like in
Buenos Aires milongas! Barbara Durr will present new
selections from a variety of milongas. The footage is
from her documentary project Chasing the Ghost.
Copies of the video will be available for purchase.

- Take a look to the extras page
(http://www.atlantatangofestival.com/extras.html). We
will have clothes, shoes and other accessories vendors
for all your tango needs.

- Most of the teachers will be in Atlanta Thursday
April 7th. They will attend Dine and Tango at Carpe
Diem (a regular event in Atlanta tango community). We
will take that opportunity to introduce the new
fragrance "Tango Eau de cologne". Two bottles of
perfume will be ruffled among the people present at
the dinner.

TEACHERS AND DJ'S

Tomas Howlin and Brigitte Winkler

Tomas and Brigitte, two well known and established
teachers, started teaching together recently, and, in
their own words, they are in tango love. They teach
showing respect for the dance, the people attending
the workshops and each other, sharing their own
connection with everybody in the room. More
information in our website
(www.atlantatangofestival.com) or at
www.tangoclasico.com/tomas and at
members.aol.com/btango5/index.htm

Robin Thomas and Jennifer Bratt

Robin and Jennifer focus on musicality, technique and
a comfortable embrace. They teach many of the steps
and figures associated with nuevo tango but for them
it is important to point that there is very little you
can do in open embrace that you can't do close. More
information in our website
(www.atlantatangofestival.com) or at
www.close-embrace.com

Robert Hauk

Robert Hauk is a nationally renowned tango teacher and
DJ, who has been dancing and teaching tango for nearly
a decade. His specialty is "apilado" or "milonguero"
style dancing, in which he has achieved an
extraordinary level skill --sufficient even to win the
praise of Buenos Aires's toughest judges, the
milongueros themselves. His ability to communicate
the music and the emotion has made him a highly sought
after dance partner at milongas across the US. More
information about Robert in our website
(www.atlantatangofestival.com) or at
home.teleport.com/~robhauk/

Robin Thomas is considered one of the top tango DJs in
North America. He DJs many regular milongas in New
York City as well as travels around to country to
provide music at festivals.

Robert Hauk --who is also a musicianis as skilled as
a DJ as a teacher and has DJ'd at major US tango
festivals, including Denver, Portland, and Los
Angeles.

Ramu Pyreddy is a die-hard tango fanatic - almost
always the last to leave the floor - believes that it
is the music and the people that make a milonga. As a
DJ he strives to develop a communication with the
dancers, selecting music that has strong emotional
connection with the dancers - to reflect the mood of
the dancers and the atmosphere of the venue. Ramu is
actively involved in the Ann Arbor Tango community
where he DJs regularly.
