Greetings all, I will be in Japan from 26 Mar to 5 Apr inclusive, and intend to split my time between Tokyo and Kyoto, plus their surrounding regions (Yokohama, Hakone, Nagoya, Nara).
Can anyone offer any advice on where to go for dancing in the evenings? I tried looking online but I can't read Japanese... nihongo wakaranai :-( I'm not on the Tango-L list, so I apologize if this or a similar topic was recently covered there. I will try to contact the following people: Tokyo: Kenji/Liliana Tomoko (Puro Tango) Kyoto: Lucia/Alvaro I checked the website for Suiyokai (a good place according to Chang Sang Hyeon, or at least it was in 2000) but couldn't figure out the kanji directions. I also visited Barrio Tango's website but couldn't decipher the directions either. TangoStyle didn't seem to have any milonga/party coming up. TangoLove has clear directions but seems unusually pricey (3,000 yen?). I'm sure there's more... if there's anyone with a contact in Japan who speaks English, German or French and is willing to help, I would be most grateful. Any tips on tango culture there e.g. dress code, invitation etiquette and so on will also be much appreciated.
