Dear Tango-A Dancers: I am posting this request for employing two tango dancers in San Francisco on behalf of a very good and reliable friend. The event spans April 2nd, 4th, and 5th, and pays $600 per person. If interested, please respond directly to the person named in the announcement.
Thank you, Steve Hoffman TEXT OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT: "Tango Dancers Wanted for an Artistic Guerilla-Marketing Event in S.F. - April 2nd, 4th, 5th. Paying $600 per person for a couple who can casually dance in the areas near this event. My name is William Hill, and I am an event coordinator putting together a promotional marketing event for a client. We are very interested in elevating the aesthetics and sophistication of our event by the addition of Argentine Tango. Here is what we are doing: My client (a cable TV network) is exhibiting at the annual show for the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (http://www.thenationalshow.com/ncta2005/ncta2005/public/enter.aspx) at Moscone Center. To promote their presence at the show, the client wants to have a troupe of people wandering the streets between Moscone Center and the hotels that attendees will be staying in. Each person will be wearing a particular costume, and a small banner with a phrase relating to that costume. For example, there will be a superhero with a banner that says "Movies make us heroic". A person handing out flowers will have the banner "Movies make us romantic". A king or queen's banner will say "Movies make us noble", and so forth. We are thinking that it would also be interesting and attractive to have a pair of skilled Argentine Tango dancers performing in various spots. The event times will be April 2nd 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, April 4th 7:30 am to 11:00 am, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm, and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and April 5th 7:30 am to 1:30 pm. Makeup will consist of faces, and probably hands, being painted blue. Our staging and dressing area will be in a meeting room at a hotel near the convention center, and secure storage will be provided for your belongings during the performances. Costumes are provided, pay is $600 per person, you will be fed, and it should be a pretty easy and fun gig.
