Workshops are held at the beautiful & spacious MOUNTAIN VIEW STUDIO on
Mountain View Avenue, in the heart of the Woodstock NY arts colony in
the Hudson Valley Catskills, just two hours from NYC,
one hour from Poughkeepsie or Albany.

EL PULPO (NORBERTO ESBREZ) has sixteen years of professional experience
as a dancer, tango teacher and choreographer of the Argentine tango.
Born into a 'bandoneonista family" and first steeped in the traditional
training of Dinzel, he has carefully researched and developed a
singularly innovative and
unusual new technique and style. He and his partner LUIZA PAES,
improvise in continuous, round, smooth sequences of intertwining ganchos
(hooks),
sacadas(displacements) and enganches (entanglements,) highly original
and never before seen on the floors of Buenos Aires milongas. These new
movements
earned him the nickname there of "El Pulpo" (The Octopus). In 1999
Norberto began to travel and teach with Luiza, a gifted dancer, musician
and extraordinary
teacher, who has the ability to clearly translate the couple's elegant,
intricate moves, so that even beginners can develop understanding of the
underlying principles
of complex moves. Together Pulpo y Luiza explore the possibilities of
the laughing, crying tango universe.Through more than a decade of
teaching tango and giving
exhibitions in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, and
Argentina, El Pulpo has developed his clear, relaxed, humorous style of
instruction which helps his students achieve greater and greater
precision and creativity.
