Dear Friends,
QuinTango will be guest soloists with the Orquesta Sinfonica
Sinaloa de las Artes in two concerts next week: Thursday, May 5 at 8:30 at
the Auditorio Pablo de Villa Vicencio in Culiacan and Saturday, May 8, at
8:00 at the Teatro Angela Peralta in Mazatlan. The program will include
six pieces for QuinTango and orchestra, a piece for solo violin performed
by the orchestra's concertmaster, Adios Nonino in an arrangement for
orchestra and sax, and a dozen tangos and milongas performed by QuinTango
alone. Tango dancers from Monterrey will perform with QuinTango in
Danzarin, Desde el Alma, Tanguera, Gallo Ciego, Por una Cabeza, and El
Choclo. This marks QuinTango's debut in Mexico, although QuinTango's
pianist Jeffery Watson and violinist Joan Singer were soloists at the First
International Tango Festival in San Miguel de Allende in October
2004. Please share this information with any friends on the West coast of
Mexico - we'd love to see some friends of friends!
