Dear Tango Star,

I will never forget, back in 1998, when we first started learning tango.
We were taking classes with many different teachers, but still couldn't
really get on the dance floor.

I felt like I was going nowhere fast! The crisis came when we went to San
Francisco and couldn't dance. I was so frustrated that I wrote a poem about
my anguish, Tango Tormento. I wanted to learn to dance tango so badly, yet
it alwasy seemed to elude me. Tango was always out of my grasp, no matter
how hard I tried.

After that expereince we vowed to do something about it, or drop tango
altogether!

....It wasn't until we began doing monthly tango "intensive" weekends that
we really began to progress in tango.

What a relief we felt, when we began to progress and see improvements in our
dancing! We knew what to do, how to move, how to place our feet, how to
improvise and how to lead. And we knew we had a system of learning that
assured us that we would coninue to progress!

It was the repetition and training over and over that made the difference.
After a while, dancing tango became second nature to us, we were free to
move and dance and express all the feelings deep down in our heart and soul!

That is why we designed our Tango From The Heart Close-Embrace Lead-Follow
Intensive. We want to give others the same opportunity we had to take a
deep dip into tango for a sustanied period of time. We work personally with
a limited number of students--the limit is 12 and no more. That way you are
assured of a lot of personal one-on-one attention. The focus is on you,
your unique problems, your needs and your goals.

We train in a beautiful, secluded, peaceful studio with no
distractions--only tango! We still have a few openings in our May
intensive. We welcome you to join us. Here are some comments from people
who we have taught:

"We have found we are all quite changed by our experience of Teo and
Marsha's recent Close-Embrace Tango Workshop TANGO FROM THE HEART! ...The
Barteks infused us with a sense of peace and respect for ourselves, other
dancers, and The Dance itself. They have an amazing understanding of the
deeper aspects of Argentine Tango coupled with the talent to work with
dancers at several levels at once while providing personal attention! "
--Kathryn Johns

"Through their enthusiastic, loving, and skillful teaching I slowly gained
confidence and understanding of the basic principles of tango dancing
milonga style. They taught about the embrace, about the posture, balance,
attitude, about the relationship between the dancing partners." -- Dubravko
Kakarigi

"Your patience, compassion, and passion provide the inspiration and the
tools for a beautiful and informative weekend intensive! Im looking
forward to many more hours of training under your capable instruction."
--Laura Steidel

"You challenge me. You have a great way of encouraging me, while demanding,
in the most gentle way, that I learn proper technique.I learn more about
dance technique at each of your lessons than in all my other classes. You
take great care to make sure that each movement is done right, with correct
foot placement, weight distribution, body posture, and tension and pressure
in the lead. Your attention to detail and your not letting me get away with
sloppy movements, has not only helped me in tango, but also is helping me
grow in all my dancing."-- Andrew Weitzen\

"We made huge strides this weekend! Teo and Marsha are patient and thorough
in their teaching, and inspirational in their dancing. The Intensive is
intensive, but we walked away ready to dance!"--Barb and Lance Harris

Best of all, the intensive is very affordable, only $195 for two full days
of almost private instruction. To register, just email us at:
[email protected]. Give your name, address and telphne number. We will
reserve a place for you and contact you with details.

Wishing you many heartfelt tangos,

Teo and Marsha
