FLORENCIA & TOMAS Florencia and Tomas met in Buenos Aires in 1995. Together, they Assisted in Graciela Gonzalez s classes and studied extensively With Gustavo Naveira. Subsequent years of research, practice and groundwork resulted In a shared devotion to the old milongueros, and deep mutual respect For each other. Their shared tango background made them friends. Their affinity in approach and understanding made them Great dance partners. This dynamic duo will be teaching and performing together for there Fifth time in Minneapolis and everybody will be benefit from the Deep, rich understanding and knowledge shared by the combination Of Florencia and Tomas. In this visit they would specially share their experience in Milonga learned from the Milongueros Tomy O'Connor and Pocho & Nelly. TOMAS HOWLIN Born and brought up in Buenos Aires, Tomas brings and Shares his 10 years of teaching and performing experience in Argentina, North America and Europe. Through his understanding and dedication Tomas creates A bridge linking traditional tango with the newer tendencies. Tomas dances and teaches authentic Argentine Tango. He had the privilege to study with many of the greatest teachers Of all times. His knowledge and pedagogy are unique and exceptional. Tomas believes in a natural, relaxed, comfortable, thoughtful and skillful Tango; One that is unique for each person. Tomas is appreciated for his sharp eye, gentle humor, and accessibility. Tomas is among the few teachers traveling worldwide Who taught regularly in the most well known Academies of Buenos Aires. He works for the Secretary of Culture of Buenos Aires, as well As Master Teacher recognized by the University of Buenos Aires. FLORENCIA TACCETTI Florencia brings a wealth of experience as a tango performer, social Dancer and teacher, as well as extensive work as a contemporary Dance performer to her teaching of Argentine Tango. This experience Makes her teaching clear and consistent. Florencia started tango in 1985 while she was part of the Contemporary Dance Ballet at the San Martin City Theater in Buenos Aires. She danced in the movie Tango Bar . She has performed with Pablo Veron (Star of the film The Tango Lesson ), Gustavo Naveira (The Tango Lesson ), Chicho Frumbolli and the legendary Pepito Avellaneda. She began teaching tango in Europe in 1988 and has taught contin_ uously in Buenos Aires. Since 1996 her teaching tours have included Many cities in the US. In Minneapolis she is teaching regular classes at Four Seasons Dance Studio since 2000 and at the University of Minnesota Dance Program since 2002. In 2004 she is invited by Minnesotan Choreograph Gerry Girouard to co-choreograph a new Piece with fusion of Modern Dance, Acrobatics and Tango that will be shown on July 2006.
