They combine fluency, subtlety, and energy, together with a unique interpretation of the music. Based in New York City, they recently conducted a teaching and performing tour of Australia and Asia. In North America, they have also been invited as guest teachers and performers at Portland ValenTango, DC Tango Marathon, and the Toronto TANGOFEST 2005. Ney Melo was trained in Buenos Aires under the Maestros: Roberto Herrera, Chicho Frumboli, and Mingo Pugliese, developing depth in posture, walk, elegance, musicality and structure of tango. He teaches a very popular Argentine tango course at NYU, and is part of the renowned tango program at Empire Dance Studios. Mariana Fresno, born in Buenos Aires, studied tango with Ester y Mingo Pugliese, Juan Carlos Copes, Maria y Rodolfo Cieri, "Tete", Jose Garofalo and many other well known milongueros. She has performed in the CITA festival in BsAs, in the show "Buenos Aires Tango" in Tokyo, and toured Chile with Osvaldo Zotto's group. She has also taught tango workshops in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, France, Mexico, and Denmark. She's currently teaching around the Tri-State Area and at DanceSport Studios in Manhattan.
