Tango Zen Workshop with Chan and Eugenia Park July 9th and 10th, 2005 Tango Zen is an innovative yet natural idea of meditating while dancing Tango. Building on the striking similarities between Tango and Zen, this Workshop will introduce methods through which dancers at any skill level and non-dancers alike can experience and enjoy the benefits that result from integrating Tango and Zen. Introducing basic concepts of Zen meditation, breathing and posture, exercises for establishing mindfulness, and connection with one's partner and music. Class 2: 2:30-3:45 - Tango Fundamentals-I: Focus on centering, weight-shifting, and walking in close embrace. Sunday July 10th Class 1: 1:00-2:15pm - Tango Zen-II: "Tango Zen mind, beginner's mind" Focus on converging mind and body by practicing simple tango movements with mindfulness. Class 2: 2:30-3:45pm - Tango Fundamentals-II: Adding complexity to your tango by practicing simple movements. Fee: $20 per class. 2 for $35.00, 3 for $50.00.
