What is Milonguero Style?

The Denver Milonguero Festival honors the style of the great social
dancers of Buenos Aires: close, subtle & romantic. Recapture that
Buenos Aires experience!

Previous events have been non-stop parties. We expect milonga
attendance to be 200 - 250, smaller than the Memorial Day Festival by
50 or 100.

This is the style typical of crowded dance floors in Buenos Aires.
Very-close embrace, use of ocho-cortados and rock-steps, navigation
with tight turns.

Special themes this year:

Milonguero from the Milongueros. Milonguero style dancers from Buenos
Aires: Ricardo Vidort, and Dany Garcia & Silvana Valtz.

Elegant, Traditional Style Milonga. Play the eye game (cabeceo) at
the Saturday evening milonga. Host seating will place men separate
from women like traditional afternoon milongas in Buenos Aires.

Welcome to Milonguero Style from Ann Arbor. For Intermediate dancers
of any style: Avik Basu & Yelena Silnenikova. Ann Arbor has been one
of the fastest growing communities in the US.

Thur early arrival classes with Christopher Nassoupoulos & Caroline
Peattie

The ever-popular Outdoor Milonga & BBQ by Tango Colorado.

Seven Special Milongas

The dance floors are designed for social dancers: Perimeter clearly
defined, Walkways for pedestrians and tables for watching are off the
floor. Dance floors will be crowded, but the navigation will be very
good. We usually have 2-3 Buenos-Aires-style lanes formed around the
perimeter of the floor. Teachers address floorcraft, fundamentals and
musicality in their classes.

DJs & Orchestra include:

- Robin Thomas: New York City, NY
- Robert Hauk, Portland, OR.
- Ramu Pyreddy: Ann Arbor, MI.
- Extasis: Evan Orman on Bandoneon, Denver, CO
