Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of Tango, We are borrowing an idea from the NY tango dancers and organizing a tango practica/swap meet.
Ladies,clear out your closets! Bring any stuff that you want to sell, trade or give away! I know all of you are hoarding tango shoes that do not fit, tango clothes that you bought and never wore, or wore and found out that the outfit was just not you! Bring anything else that you want to get rid of that can be used for tango such as jewelry and other accessories. Things that you no longer want may bring a lot of joy to someone else. Gentlemen, I know that some of you are hiding in your closets really fabulous men's tango shoes that you may have bought in BsAs and which may have been made for your EXACT foot specifications, but which actually should belong to someone else because they do not fit your foot and the colors are either too flashy or not flashy enough for your very elegant or highly eccentric taste. Come and sell your CDs, or DJing stuff (equipment?), tango books, tango souvenirs, etc.! Bring out everything and practice good tango Feng Shui! it is amazing what clearing the tango clutter will do for your dancing! Marilyn of the Mercury Cafe is our official sponsor and she is giving us the space upstairs to do it. Please thank her for this when you get a chance and please support the Mercury Cafe as much as you can because without it and Marilyn's dedicated support, we probably would not have had a community such as the one we have now. Participation in this event is completely free. We will only ask for a volunteer donation for the DJ who will provide the music.
