PLANET TANGO, a New Orleans based national tango association headed by
master teachers Alberto Paz and Valorie Hart, will present its FOURTH
annual NEW ORLEANS TANGOFEST from AUGUST 5 - AUGUST 7,  with all
activities held at the elegant and sensual HOTEL MONACO, 333 ST.
CHARLES AVENUE.

Tango dancers from all over the USA  come together with New Orleans
tango dancers to celebrate the joy of the embrace, THE ARGENTINE TANGO.

NEW  THIS YEAR:
Friday, AUGUST 5 - HOTEL MONACO, EGYPTIAN BALLROOM, 8 PM

FIFTEEN MINUTES IN THE HISTORY OF TANGO DANCING
An original musical style  FLOOR SHOW featuring professional tango
couples, and other dancers. Tango dancers featured in the cast are
ORLANDO PAIVA, JR., MARIANA MELLING, ALBERTO PAZ, VALORIE HART, DOUG
McGEORGE,  SUZANNE McGEORGE, MICHAEL SERRY, JULIE ANN STILLMAN and
more...

$30. per person, includes one cocktail - Seating is very limited to 150

There will be general tango dancing after the show for audience members
and festival participants, from 10 PM
until midnight, with snacks and beverages.

TANGO CLASSES during the day on Saturday  AUGUST 6 and Sunday AUGUST 7
with this years invited teachers from
Argentina, ORLANDO PAIVA, JR. and MARIANA MELLING. Orlando carries on
his fathers tradition (ORLANDO
PAIVA, SR.) of romantic elegant dancing. ORLANDO, JR. with partner
MARIANA MELLING are exquisite dancers, who can teach what they dance.

Also teaching TANGO CLASSES on AUGUST 6 and  AUGUST 7, master teachers
and New Orleans residents, via Buenos
Aires, are ALBERTO PAZ AND VALORIE HART. Teaching all over the world
for over fifteen years, they have dedicated their effort in their home
base in New Orleans for the past five years.

Classes are for all levels from the beginning to the seasoned dancer.
No partner necessary.  Half Day $60.

Other highlights of the weekend include a grand TANGO BALL and gourmet
dinner (catered by Cobalt Restaurant) on Saturday AUGUST 6. This years
theme is LADY IN RED,  and all ladies are encouraged to put on their
red dresses!  General tango dancing until 1AM.  Reservations are a

Sunday night, AUGUST 7, culminates with the GRADUATION DINNER DANCE,
with another great dinner catered by Cobalt Restaurant, and a showcase

NEW THIS YEAR:
Renowned folk artist CHARLES GILLAM will present his work and nine
other artists from his world class FOLK ART ZONE. If youve been to
any  House of  Blues, you have seen Charles Gillams work featured
there. Charles Gillam will have his work for sale on the third floor of
THE HOTEL MONACO, in the PLANET TANGO BOUTIQUE. Tango shoes, CDs,
DVDs,  posters, T-shirts, accessories, clothes (from Zarina French
Quarter Boutique), etc. will also be on sale.  Open Saturday  AUGUST 6
and Sunday  AUGUST 7, 10 AM - 5 PM.
