Tango 59 Degrees Stockholm City is now two and a half weeks away. So
far, we have participants from 14 countries, which makes for an
international atmosphere, fresh energy at the milongas, and is a
great opportunity to widen your circle of tango friends.
BOOKINGS
========
Lucia Mazer's and Ezequiel Farfaro's package classes (Package A and
C) are fully booked - this new constellation has proven to be very
popular indeed - but there are still a few places left on their
workshops, so the sooner you sign up, the better.
We must also mention Ezequiel Paludi and Sabrina Masso, who visit
Scandinavia for the first time. Next time they are here we can all
expect the same kind of rush as with Lucia and Ezequiel, so why not
be smart and discover them for yourself before everyone else? There
are still a few places on their 8-couple intensive classes, as well
on their 12-couple classes.
Followers will be glad to hear that there are two Italian gentlemen
waiting for them on the workshop wV: "Vals Cruzado, basics". In other
classes and workshops there is a slight excess of followers - so
guys, you have a golden opportunity here to make yourselves popular.
But don't wait too long.
If you have friends or relatives you want to introduce to tango, tell
them to enroll for the Beginner's Classes of Tango 59 Degrees.
Gunilla Rydén and Henrik Uldall will give a two-night course for
beginners, and Cristina Ramírez and Tommy Persson will follow with
another two-nighter in the following two evenings. They can be taken
separately or together: a perfect introduction to the world of tango
from Scandinavian top teachers.
MILONGAS
========
The Friday milonga at the Royal Opera's Rotunda Stage has had to be
moved to another venue - it will now take place at Mondo on
Medborgarplatsen, just like the one on Thursday. Therefore, Ezequiel
Paludi and Sabrina Masso will perform on the Friday instead of, as
previously announced, the Thursday. Cuarteto Típico SILENCIO will
play on the Thursday.
TANGO CAFÉ
==========
There will be a Tango Café open daytime during the festival at
Stallet. The café is meant to be the heart of the festival: you can
drop in at anytime between 2pm and 6pm, sit around and chat with
friends for a while, drink and eat something - and there will also be
an informal daytime milonga/practica every day in the café, with
different guest DJ:s.
DAYTIME CONCERTS
================
Most of the days there will also be a lunch concert in the Café. We
are pleased to announce that Cuarteto Típico SILENCIO will play for
us, as will other established ensembles. While the late-night
milongas of course are totally geared towards maximum danceability,
the lunch concerts will be a little bit more eclectic in nature and
will range from classical to cross-genre tango, for your listening
pleasure.
LUNCHES
=======
For those of you who prefer to "eat in", we have arranged for lunch
meals to be cooked and served in the festival area by professional
caterers. If you want to reserve meals in this way, just book them on
the booking page. Vegetarian alternatives are available. Don't wait
too long - the caterers need to plan ahead.
OPEN-AIR BARBEQUE!
==================
The last night's milonga, that on the Saturday the 14th, on the Roof
Terrace of Kulturhuset, will feature an open-air charcoal Barbeque!
If you think this is something for you - and who doesn't? - please
sign up for the Barbeque on the booking page (http://
tango59degrees.com/booking.php), as the barbeque is not included in
the milonga ticket and/or the Milonga Pass.
