Jueves This Week â 7/28/05 The weatherman is promising a break in the heat this Thursday, so why not celebrate with a really cool evening of tango at Jueves, the weekly milonga at the Dulaine Dance Center. Why Jueves? With apologies to David Letterman, here are ten reasons: 10. You will never forget what day it is because our name, Jueves, says it all (in Spanish, of course!); 9. The opportunity to learn some Spanish vocabulary (see no. 10 above); 8. You can dance all night and your legs will still be happy â our 2000 square foot leg-loving sprung wood floor is one of the best in NYC; 7. You can work on your floor navigation skills without ever bumping into a pillar â our dance floor is unobstructed; 6. Vino todo la noche; 5. Wonderful music from all eras â Golden Age to Nuevo â as befits a milonga named after a song (Jueves is not just a day of the week, but the title of a well-known tango-milonga); 4. An inviting atmosphere, where socializing is encouraged â after all, a milonga should be more than just a dance floor and some music; 3. Tasty summertime treats like luscious fresh fruit and frosty iced tea served all evening to satisfy that late night appetite; 2. An understanding that no one is born knowing how to tango (not even in Argentina!) and that dancers come at all levels of skill and experience; 1.
