Hola Tango Community! Back by popular demand, our AIResTANGO show, co-produced with Cathy Gauch of Aircat Aerial Arts, that was so enthusiastically received last year, will reopen this August/September! We kept our promise to provide more performances this time - as many of you know, last year, the standing-room-only sell-out SINGLE performance we were so fortunate to enjoy, excluded some (more than we like to admit!) from participating in our premiere.
We're very excited about the evolution of this production, which, in addition to a run of 5 performances, offers new choreographies, beautiful new music, exotic new cast members and guest artist appearances that we anticipate will help us to again bring the house down!!! DENVER LABOR DAY TANGO FESTIVAL After the Boulder shows, we'll close the run with 2 final performances at The Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Theater in Denver the following weekend (September 2 & 3), to add to the Labor Day Tango Festival activities! For the Denver performances, we are hoping to make arrangements for a shuttle service between the Doubletree Hotel, the theater and the Mercury Cafe. If this works out, Labor Day Festival participants staying at the hotel will have transportation to ALL festival activites the nights of September 2 and 3, with no conflicting events. We plan another tango vendor extravaganza for the theater lobbies featuring a variety of tango goodies for sale prior to curtain, during intermissions and following the shows! And don't forget your dance shoes - once again, we warmly invite our audience to join the AIResTANGO cast ON STAGE directly following the performance for a combination Intro Tango Lesson/Milonga (Argentine tango social dance party), FREE! This is an EXCELLENT opportunity to introduce family and friends to the mystery and magic of Argentine tango culture, dance and music! Non-dancers can mingle comfortably and "just watch" or, for the bolder at heart, participate in our post-performance intro tango dance lesson/milonga. All levels welcome! In a reprise of its standing-room-only sellout premiere performance last year, AIResTANGO returns with brand-new choreographies and existing favorites! Each of the many exciting performance numbers explore the artistic "tango fusions" springing from artists around the globe, all of whom find inspiration in the rich cross-cultural brew that is Argentine Tango. Co-producers and tango artists Catherine Gauch, Brian Dunn and Deborah Sclar, who collaborated so successfully last year, return with other guest artists to share more unique AIResTANGO explorations, interweaving the classic with the cutting edge to bring you a dynamic, highly entertaining and powerful evening.
