ARMANDO ORZUZA Santa Fe, NM August 20 & 21, 2005 Armando was born in "La Boca", a suburb of Buenos Aires, known as the birth place of the Tango. His first professional contact with the Tango was at the age of fourteen, as a sound technician for a "tangueria" (Tango dance hall) in Buenos Aires. This enriching experience surrounded him with the foremost dancers, singers and orchestras of the Tango world. Ten years later he began to study the Tango himself. Armando learned to dance from the original "milongueros" and began his professional career in 1990, after meeting Daniela.
Daniela and Armando have had numerous guest appearances as dancers for Julio Iglesias¹ promotion of his new album ³Tango² in Alan Parker¹s movie ³Evita², where they were dance consultants and assisted with the film¹s choreography Throughout Europe, South America and the United States, they have performed and taught the tango at festivals, events, organizations, embassies, consulates, schools and theaters. They have appeared in the theatre production of Tango Pasion and Armando has appeared in the theatre production of Avantango. Daniela and Armando are multi talented and diversified in their expression of the tango. Through their choreography, they uniquely express the many facets of the tango world in every performance. They have successfully amalgamated the originality of the ³Golden Era² with the powerful styles of the ³modern² tango of today. BYOB Sunday, August 21: 1:30 - 2:45pm "Back To Basics" Part 2: For Intermediate Level dancers to improve basic technique in the circular use of a couple's space & navigation on the dance floor, syncopation, adaptation of posture to the close embrace & learning how to be fluid with your partner on the dance floor. 3:00 - 4:15pm Vals Intermediate Level 4:30 - 5:45pm Tango Salon, Part 2: Intermediate/Advance level dancers will continue with what was taught in Tango Salon, Part 1, with added understanding of improvisation, navigation, working with such elements as volcadas, sacadas, giros, barridas to name a few.
