It used to take two to tango, but the women of Tango ConFusion bend the gender related customs and traditions of this century-old dance. Auriels documentary tracks the company during its first year and profiles its collaborative artists. A champagne reception toasts the documentarys premiere. The 7:30pm early showing will be followed by a brief Q & Q session with Auriel, performances by Tango ConFusion, and a Milonga. A 10:45pm late showing closes the event. Critical praise for Tango ConFusion: Exciting and innovative in the extreme The Performers/Artists Voice Sensuous Voice of Dance Wonderful. An eye-opener Bob MacKenzie of KTVU/Channel 2 Filmmakers Statement: I was inspired to do this project by the Tango ConFusion dancers themselves and their contribution to all women young and old who have given up on goals traditionally pursued by men. It has been an unwritten law that Argentine Tango be choreographed by men because they lead the dance. The women in this company lead and follow, choreograph and perform a fusion of tango and modern dance with fervent passion. Christy Coté Tango ConFusion dancer/choreographer San Francisco
