Participants will learn exercises to lead them to mindfulness, which is a
state of full awareness of oneself, one's partner, and one's surroundings.
The exercises are adapted from martial arts, meditation techniques, and
sports, as well as from Tango, and involve not only physical disciplines,
but also mental disciplines of focusing one's whole attention. By
practicing these exercises over time, the participants can acquire and
increase their balance, connection, centering, grounding, and
weight-shifting skills, all of which are critical for dancing tango.
