Last year's Close Embrace Tango Weekend had over 100 attendees from 5
Midwest states - IL, MO, IA, WI, IN. We have heard in the affirmative
from these communities again and expect the Second Annual Close
Embrace Tango Weekend to be even bigger and better than last year.

This year we will have 2 simultaneous workshops from expert
instructors in the close embrace tango style - Tom Stermitz from
Denver Co and Ramu Pyreddy from Ann Arbor MI. There will be workshops
at all levels, including a beginner series for those new to the close
embrace style. There will be milongas Friday and Saturday, with Tom
and Ramu as DJs. Sunday evening we will have a Buffet Dinner with a
Community Development Forum chaired by Tom, who has been the catalyst
for community growth in numerous tango communities he has visited. The
grand finale Sunday evening will be Ramu's multimedia
presentation/workshop of the music of different tango orchestras and
adapting one's dancing to them. All events will be held at the
Phillips Recreation Center, a top notch comfortable dance facility
with ample free adjacent parking.

Both Tom and Ramu's tango workshops have been praised wherever they
have taught, so you will increase your tango skills significantly
during this weekend. The dancers in your home community will notice
this.

The schedule of events is posted on our website: www.centraltango.com

Please contact us if you are interested in private lessons with Tom or Ramu

We now have information on housing and pricing available. There are
discounts for multiple workshops, for students, and for dancers
traveling more than 100 miles.

Tom is well known as the organizer of the highly successful Memorial
Day and Labor Day Weekends in Denver, and as a successful tango
instructor both at home, around the US, and abroad. Ramu, founder and
leading organizer of the successful Ann Arbor tango community, is in
high demand as a DJ for tango festivals and weekends, and is now also
becoming well known around the US for his excellent teaching style.

Champaign-Urbana has a friendly 7+ year old tango community centered
around the University of Illinois. A trip to Champaign-Urbana is
relatively inexpensive, with affordable lodging and dining. Due to the
generosity of our dancers, we will have some free lodging available
for out-of-town guests, with priority given to students. If you are
interested, please contact us ASAP.

Join us for what will be an fun weekend of mingling with many dancers
from numerous Midwest tango communities. Enjoy the atmosphere of a
weekend of tango danced in close embrace. Meet new tango friends and
reconnect with old ones.
