The newest show of Tangokinesis is Cotillon, a blend of contemporary dance, tango and folklore. Ana Maria Stekelman is director and choreographer of the company celebrating their tenth anniversary season.
Garello Tango is a suite of tangos to the musical interpretations of bandoneonist Raul Garello and his sextet. Tangos include Pantomima (Garello), Redencion (A. Gobbi), Negracha (Pugliese), Margarita de Agosto (Garello), Canaro en Paris (Scarpino-Caldarella), and La Trampera (Troilo). Cotillon is a tribute to the famous pad de deux classics Corsaire (Adam), Coppelia (Delibes) and Don Quijote (Minkus). It is a work about movement and objects and their relation to playing and freedom. Bolero is a combination of contemporary dance with tango and a bit of zapateo from folklore to the music of Maurice Ravel.
