Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of Tango, In October, Grisha and I will be offering a full range of classes, including the Beginner and Intermediate drop in classes at the Mercury Cafe on Fridays and two specialty classes on Sundays.
The registration is due this coming Saturday, October 1, 2005 for the two 5-week series of classes on Sundays. We will be having a lot of fun and a lot of learning with our classes! The two classes are both specialty intensive series. 1. The Milonga con Traspie II 5-week series is designed for those dancers who already have a knowledge of milonga and have been dancing a lot socially. We will explore the technique and the endless possibilities of traspie and its remarkable musical perfection as it becomes expressed in the movement. This class will be very fast-paced and will have a lot of technique. Please remember, milonga is NOT danced as tango! It is its own dance and it is always danced close embrace. We will be playing with movement, connection and speed as the dancers expand their knowledge and proficiency with traspie. What: 5-Week Milonga con Traspie Intensive Class Series (Intermediate Level) When:October 2 - 30, 2005, 5 - 6:30PM Where: The Moving Arts Studio, 1411 Ogden Street, Denver Cost: $65 per person for the entire series. Partnering: You do not need to need to bring your own partner. We will be creating a gender-balanced classes for both classes. However, you are more than welcome to work with a partner, if you wish to do so. 2. Creative Combinations with Boleos ( & other surprises) Part II will be a continuation of our work with the five types of boleos and the interpretation of music that they allow. To lead and to follow boleos takes a lot of training in timing, placement and musical interpretations, not to mention a perfect embrace connection. When executed well, boleos are a fabulous surprise movement. I have never met a woman who did not like boleos! We will be working with both tango and vals music in the class. This is an upper intermediate level class. However, if you wish to learn more than you feel is your level, you are more than welcome to join the class. When dancers take higher level classes, they learn much faster and much more than if they remained in the level appropriate for their current skill. We are also looking to offer training in single axis turns (colgadas, although nothing will be hanging :-)) and some other advanced elements. This will be a class of big movements, mostly in close embrace. What: 5-Week Creative Combinations with Boleos (and other surprises) Part II When:October 2 - 30, 2005, 6:30 - 8PM Where: The Moving Arts Studio, 1411 Ogden Street, Denver Cost: $65 per person for the entire series. It is a great pleasure to offer classes at this very high creative, technical and expressive levels and we are looking forward to seeing you there! Our goal is that your learning is not only fun, but that it offers you and opportunity to enhance your creative experience every time you dance. The dance belongs to each dancer. The technique we offer becomes your own, so you can be free in the dance. The registration materials are available at the Mercury Cafe and also as an e-mail attachment. We are looking forward to seeing you in these very special classes! Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can answer any questions you may have. Our warmest regards to every one of you, Nina & Grisha Tangoneando Dance Company 720/434-4342
