Added to our next, great tango weekend in Cleveland, Ohio Saturday Oct 22 Avik Basu will be our guest DJ at Milonga Con Dolcezza at Alegria Avik was one of the many teachers who taught in this years Labor Day Festival in Denver, with Yelena Sinelnikova. Both of these excellent teachers come from the fastest growing community in the US., Ann Arbor, Mich. It gives me great pleasure that Avik is coming to Cleveland, and will help make this weekend a success, and the only place you'll want to be.
Florencia Taccetti of Buenos Aires / Minneapolis, MN Will be in Cleveland to instruct tango from Friday Oct 21 thru Oct 24. Florencia will be instructing a weekend of tango to help our lead and follow, and women's technique. Florencia has a video of Women's technique which you can purchase a video of thru Daniel Trenner and, or the Tango Catalog Oct 21 thru 24 Her teaching covers a wide range of social styles including salon, traditional, new vocabulary, Milonguero, Milonga traspie and tango waltz. She has a special talent for teaching great technique, embellishments and musicality to both followers and leaders. She teaches the building blocks of the tango and reveals conceptual frameworks and techniques that allow dancers to learn to create their own steps and decorations, as well as to dance with grace and musicality. Florencia works to develop the subtle communication between partners because she has found in her own experience that this is the communication that takes the dance to a magical and unforgettable level. Followers find the active aspects of their role by learning the spaces in the dance where they are able to contribute their own interpretation and expression. Leaders find sensuality by offering an embrace to the followers that lets them enjoy the dance from the beginning. They develop clarity in their leading by learning how to express maximum intent with a minimum of movement, expressing the intent with a soft touch before the follower's action, rather than forcing the movements. Leaders also grow in the dance through the quality of their own movement and by offering an invitation to a dance journey that is interesting musically and is expressed from the heart, rather than through an intent to impress. Florencia Taccetti has been dancing tango since 1985, when she began with Miguel Zotto and Miguel Balmaceda and Nelly Alganaraz. In 1995 she co-taught with Graciela Gonzalez and Patricia Lamberti at Parakultural in BsAS. Florencia is a lifelong dancer with a strong foundation in Modern, contemporary, jazz dance and ballet. In 1986, she danced in the movie "tango bar" and performed as the partner of Pablo Veron during a three month tour. In 1992 she partnered with Pepito Avelleneda in Brussels, Belgium and with Gustavo Naveira to perform with the orchestra of Psvaldo Piro in BsAs. There is so much I can write about Florencia, but I'll keep is short for now. Some of the classes that Florencia will be teaching will be Everything you need to know to become an advanced dancer.
