The Tango Society of Boston is very pleased to announce that Forever Tango,
Tango X2, star of Julio Iglesias's World Tango Tour, GUILLERMINA QUIROGA and
her partner GUSTAVO ROSAS will be in Boston on the weekend of 15-16 October
(Sat, Sun) to give a series of Master Workshops in Sensual Tango and the Tango
Waltz (Vals). Guillermina indeed needs no introduction, but for those who are
new to the Tango community, she is a very engaging instructor and a dazzling
performer. In the late 1990's she worked with Russian figure skaters Pasha
Gritsuk & Evgeni Platov to develop a choreography for their show to Piazzolla's
Libertango. Not only did Gritsuk and Platov go on to win the Figure Skating
world championship that year, but using what Guillermina taught them they went
on to capture the Olympic Gold Medal. Gustavo Rosas was a guest
artist-in-residence in Boston in November where his techniques and figures were
so popular we were asked immediately when he was returning. Guillermina and
Gustavo created a show called Los Tangos de la Cabala that has been dazzling
audiences since last summer. You won't want to miss their engagement in
Boston. On Saturday Night at La Milonga, Boston's most popularly attended
milonga, Guillermina and Gustavo will be giving a performance exhibition. To
register electronically, send an e-mail to [email protected], or contact the
Boston TangoLine at 617-699-6246 (O-C-H-O). Please dont' forget to check out
the calendar of events in Boston at the Boston Tango Calendar,
www.bostontango.org. The full details of GUILLERMINA and GUSTAVO's workshops
are posted there, including workshops in colgada, volcada and boleos. If you
have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to
seeing you on the weekend of 15 October 2005.
