Hi everyone, In a little over a week, I will be heading out on a road trip by car from Boston to Los Angeles over the course of a month, from roughly Oct 14 to November 12.
The tentative routing is: 1. Boston south to Atlanta along the Appalachian Trail/Blue Ridge Parkway (approx 14-22 Oct), then 2. West to New Mexico (through Tennessee, Oklahoma) (approx 22-29 Oct), then 3. North to western Colorado and West through Utah and Nevada (approx 29 Oct-6 Nov), then 4. West to Northern California, then South to Los Angeles via the Pacific Coast (approx 6-12 Nov). So ... what does this have to do with Tango? Well, this isn't intended to be a "Tango trip" per se, but it is a "fun" trip and fun of course includes Tango where possible. So, for for any Tango communities that lie more or less along the route described above, if any individual or group is interested in, or can provide information about, one or more of the possibilities below, please reply to me at [email protected] and perhaps we can intersect! 1. Any Tango communities who would be interested in having me teach a class (see http://tangofoundation.com) while I am passing through or to DJ a Milonga or special dance (see http://tangodj.com); (no charge since it's not a working trip and I don't want it to become one--just put me up for the night!) 2. Tango communities holding Milongas along my route that I should plan to drop in on to get a Tango fix (a link to the corresponding websites listing events would be great); 3. Any really special Tango event that I might want to manipulate my schedule to make it to; 4. Finally, if someone is actually interested in accompanying me for a part of the trip (a day or two or ??), that's possible too. There's room for one person and a small bag (it's a 2-seater convertible). E-mail me and we can discuss further. Week 2 (approx 22-29 Oct): Chattanooga, Memphis (TN); Little Rock (AK); Tulsa, Oklahoma City (OK); McLean, Amarillo (TX); Tucumcari, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Gallup (NM). Week 3 (approx 29 Oct-6 Nov): Gunnison, Grand Junction (CO); Soldier Summit, Provo, Salt Lake City (UT); Austin, Virginia City (NV); Sacramento, Mendocino (CA).
