From Ballroom, Latin, Country, Disco, and finally to Argentine Tango, his thirty years of experience and his clear understanding and precise explanation of the dance make him a perennial favorite of students everywhere. Michael has trained ballroom students and teachers across Canada and the United States, both socially and competitively, and has taught the subtleties of Argentine Tango in Canada and the US, as well as in Mexico and Buenos Aires. Michael adapts his Argentine tango through instruction from some wonderful tangueros/maestros like Pablo Nievas, Gustavo Naveira, Eduardo Saucedo, Fabian Salas, Osvaldo Zotto, Metin Yazir, Daniel Lapadula among others. He believes all dances are to be enjoyed, but in Argentine Tango he finds a dance form which entails all shades of emotions and ultimate freedom of improvisation. His ability to make learning dance fun and understandable is unparalleled. Michaels nickname, The Dance Doctor, is well earned! As a certified practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Michaels extensive knowledge of kinesthetics and NLP, in combination with his well-defined techniques, creates a unique approach for dance instruction and performing. Beatrix Satzinger has danced since she was a little girl. After a professional dance career in Germany (Stuttgart Ballet, Frankfurt Opera, Munich Gaertnerplatztheater), she searched for genuine, authentic expression through dancing. Beatrix has a counseling practice in on Salt Spring Island and in Vancouver, B.C., where one of her major therapeutic approaches has been dance-movement therapy. In this quest, Beatrix studied expressionist/modern dance, improvisation and composition with Mary Wigman in addition to classical ballet with Tatjana Gsowski in Berlin. Her embrace of Argentine tango began in 1997. Among the teachers with whom Beatrix has studied are Eduardo Saucedo, Fabian Salas, Osvaldo Zotto and Lorena, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Pablo Nievas and Valeria Zunina, Aurora Lubiz, Gustavo Naveira and Giselle-Ann, Daniel Lapadula, Eduardo Aguirre and Yvonne Meissner, Susana Miller, Cacho Dante, Miguel Pla, Metin Yazir, Florencia Taccetti and Michael Young. In tango, her focus is on connecting with another person in movement and music, enhancing and stimulating each others experience of dancing and, at the same time, dancing ones own, personal expression of self. In teaching tango, Beatrix brings together her love for dancing, music, people, and appreciation of people in relationships. Since September 2002, Michael & Beatrix have been teaching tango throughout North America, Mexico and even in Buenos Aires. They will embark on an instructing tour to New Zealand and Australia in 2006. Find out more about Michael Young & Beatrix Satzinger at http://www.EmbraceTango.com! Grant at 312-342-4335 or email [email protected] What students around the country, continent & world have to say about Michael & Beatrix I would like you to know that you were very much appreciated as professional teachers. I have been on the dance "circuit" for sixty years and am pleased to say that you were extra-ordinary as first class teachers as well as beautiful in your presentation. I learned much from you in Argentine Tango, which is my current passion. I wish you the best and will be looking forward to having you come back." Mendocino CA We recently had the great pleasure of hosting Beatrix Satzinger and Michael Young for a two week tango extravaganza. This included workshops, private lessons and a milonga featuring the fabulous music of Tango Number 9 from San Francisco. Beatrix and Michael performed four exquisite dances during the concert followed by an introductory tango lesson with sixty people! Beatrix and Michael first came to the Mendocino Coast in July of 2004. They taught two days of workshops and thirty private lessons in one week and received rave reviews from our group. As teachers they are among the best guest teachers we have had, and certainly favorites with our group. Michael has a way of demystifying technique and going straight to the problem areas. They are both remarkably good at explaining and demonstrating the fundamentals as well as the higher art of tango. We have been particularly enchanted with their unique technique of dancing close embrace in a very emotional and intimate way. The Tango Mendocino community enthusiastically recommends Beatrix and Michael! The level of dance has greatly improved as a result of their phenomenal teaching. We welcome them back to the Mendocino coast (for the third time) in May of 2005." Perth, Australia: When are you going to BA because I will seriously consider meeting you there. I still have not met any teachers that could explain dance and be as sincere as you. I hope that you get the hint that I do really miss you as my teachers. So when can I see you again!" Eugene, OR I just wanted to thank you for your visit to Eugene this past weekend. I did take Michael and your pre-Milonga class on Friday. It was one of the best, if not the best pre-Milonga class I've had the pleasure to experience. What made it so good was not only your teaching ability but your personalities. The two of you were always smiling and encouraging. I could really tell you love what you do. Also, you two have such an amazing connection. Your performance was ... breathtakingly indescribable. the passion and energy flowing between you two, left me and the whole room speechless."
