Adriana focuses on the spontaneity and functionality of the movement and on
developing a strong yet fluid centre of balance. She pays particular
attention to body disassociation and the dialogue initiating within the
couple, rather than only the follower and leader roles.

Walk with smooth confidence and dance with powerful grace.
Essential exercises from Ballet & Martial Arts to strengthen, stretch and
soften the body, in particular the abdomen, lower back and ankles, allowing
you to perform with clarity, flow and speed not only decorations but any
sequence of "steps" (ochos, giros, sacadas, colgadas). Bring: socks, jazz
shoes or equivalent & your favourite heels.

3:30 5:00 pm EMBRACING SPACES all levels men, women & couples
This class refines the dynamic of your dance within the embrace (and in the
temporary release of the embrace), expanding it to the dynamics of the dance
floor. Exercises tailored to suggest new ways to engage with the space and
the other couples, addressing specific styles such as "the pause" in Gavito
and "the change of direction" in Veron.

All levels = as Adriana brings a new approach to the dance these classes
offer new challenges for beginner to professional dancers.

Adriana has studied with many Tango teachers, but above all was inspired by
Carlos Gavito. She teaches and dances both leader and follower roles as well
as developing the ŒTo be one to Tango¹ dance form. She holds a Bachelor of
Arts in Dance and
Art from University College Chichester, where she also lectures in Dance and
New Media. Tango performances include the Ceroc International Championship
and Glanstonbury Festival. This week she presented solo improvisations at
ŒLa Boca¹, ŒEsmeralda¹s Tango¹ and ŒLa Nacional¹.
Her award winning dance film ŒDouble One¹ explored the relation of Tango and
Jungian symbolism and was programmed internationally at Dance Film Festivals
and currently showing at Cinetango, Canada. She has performed in various
dance shows as well as producing and directing her own. She is preparing a
new piece ŒAdagio, con Brio¹, inspired by Tango and Japanese Butoh to be
premiered in February at the Robin Howard Theatre, London. ³I am not Half:
I am One. Actually, I am Two, considering the physiological and metaphysical
Dualities. Dancing Tango for me is not about creating a One with the Other,
but to Œmerge¹ those contradictory Dualities: then yes, there may be a
sparkle of a Whole². (Adriana P)
